First off, I wanted to start this message by saying thank you. Thank you in believing in us to bring you an amazing experience. Thank you for traveling to play for the kids. Thank you for being such amazing, sportsman-like competitors.
On December 28th, 2016, something magical happened in central Illinois. Something that has never touched Peoria before. Gaming Gives hosted not only the largest video game tournament in central Illinois but also the largest Charitable Competitive Video Game Tournament in Illinois. We did something as a team that two years ago was just a dream. I would even go as far to say that even 5 months ago this was a dream. To some of you, you were coming for your first LAN experience or just to compete. For me, this was a huge task for an amazing charity that a lot of people looked at as something that could not be done by a group of teenagers. The task of getting gamers from all over the country to come and play for a cause was something that was unheard of in this area and you guys did not let me down. You guys, literally the greatest of the competitive community, rallied to get people to our event. You did not let up even when it was coming down to the last few days and we needed a few more teams. You guys made this happen. You guys made this event a success for us.
Then just as quickly as it came it had ended. The huge, impossible task was complete but that did not stop you guys, our community. You took to social media sites like Twitter and Youtube and talked about the event and your experiences there. You talked about the professionalism of the event for how small we were and how you would come back in a heartbeat. So let me give you the statistics of what has happened with Gaming Gives since the event. You guys deserve it.
